Methodology for defining Comprehensive Road Development Plans.

This project, which has been co-funded by the IDB (Inter-American Development Bank) and administered by CONGOPE (Consortium of Provincial Autonomous Governments of Ecuador), exploits technologies in the field of road planning and management, such as GIS tools, multi-criteria matrixes and the World Bank's HDM-4 socio-economic evaluation software. The entire methodology is conducted by an integrative approach and is based on the following strategic lines:

  • Articulation of the territory
  • Social cohesion
  • Promotion of regional production activity

In this way, the methodological tool succeeds in reaching the strategic lines from the analysis and analytical evaluation of real data, providing institutions in charge of road planning and maintenance with a powerful and effective instrument that will help them in decision-making process.
